چکیده
We present preliminary results from a search for the rare, flavor-changing neutral current decays B → Kl+l− and B → K∗l+l−, where l+l− is either an e+e− or μ+μ− pair. The data sample comprises (84.4 ± 0.9) × 106 Υ (4S) → BB decays (77.8 fb−1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B Factory. For B → Kl+l−, we observe a signal with estimated significance of 4.4σ and obtain B(B → Kl+l−) = (0.78 −0.20−0.18) × 10 −6 (averaged over l = e and μ). For B → K∗l+l−, we observe an excess of events over background with estimated significance of 2.8σ. We obtain B(B → K∗l+l−) = (1.68 −0.58 ± 0.28) × 10 −6 and the 90% C.L. upper limit B(B → K∗l+l−) < 3.0 × 10−6. The color superconductivity of a dense quark matter is reviewed with emphasis on the long range nature of the pairing force and the multiplicity of the order parameter. The former gives rise to a non BCS behavior of the superconducting energy scale and the latter modifies the critical value of the Ginzburg-Landau parameter that separates the superconductivity of type I and that of type II.

We examine how mixing between the Standard Model Higgs boson, h, and the radion present in the Randall-Sundrum model of localized gravity modifies the expected properties of the Higgs boson. In particular, we demonstrate that the total and partial decay widths of the Higgs, as well as the h → gg branching fraction, can be substantially altered from their Standard Model expectations. The remaini...
